"IF PRESIDENT MAHAMA COMPLETES THE EXPRESSWAY BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE, I WILL USE MYSELF AS COLLATERAL” – NHYIRABA KWABENA ASIRIFI
Journalist and host of the Ghana Nti Morning Show, Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, has expressed strong confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to completing the proposed Kumasi–Accra Expressway before the end of his tenure. Speaking on the programme, Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi said the completion of the project before President Mahama leaves office would be a major achievement for the government and the country. He made the remarks while expressing his strong belief that the project would be completed within the President’s tenure. In a passionate statement, Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi said that if President Mahama completes the expressway before leaving office, he would personally stand as collateral for whatever the President may require. He said the completion of the project would bring significant benefits to motorists, commuters and businesses by reducing travel time between Kumasi and Accra and improving the movement of goods and people. Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi further urged the government to remain committed to the project and ensure that the necessary resources and planning are put in place to achieve its timely completion. The proposed expressway has generated considerable public interest, particularly because of its potential impact on transportation, trade and economic activity between the Ashanti and Greater Accra regions.
