NHYIRABA KWABENA ASIRIFI RAISES CONCERNS OVER FUNDING AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN NATIONAL CATHEDRAL PROJECT
Commentator Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi has raised concerns about the funding and management of the National Cathedral Project, particularly the sources of funds being used for its construction. Speaking on the Ghana Nti Morning Show, Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi questioned the financial arrangements surrounding the project and called for greater transparency regarding how funds for the National Cathedral are mobilised and managed. He specifically raised concerns about the involvement of Aps. Prof. Opoku Onyinah and other stakeholders who have been associated with efforts to raise funds for the project. According to him, the construction of the National Cathedral should primarily be supported through voluntary contributions and funds specifically raised for that purpose. Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi further argued that public funds should not be used in a manner that places an additional financial burden on Ghanaian taxpayers without clear justification and accountability. He therefore called on stakeholders involved in the National Cathedral Project to provide clear information on the sources of funding, how funds have been managed, and the progress of the project. He stressed that greater transparency and accountability would help promote public confidence and enable Ghanaians to better understand the financial arrangements surrounding the project. The commentator's remarks have renewed discussion about the financing, accountability, and management of the National Cathedral Project.
