MR. SIAW MANDELA: WHAT EOCO DID THERE MAKES NO COMMON SENSE
Political Analyst Siaw Mandela has criticised the manner in which the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) attempted to arrest Manhyia South MP and lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah at the Accra High Court Complex. The incident occurred on September 23, 2026, after Baffour Awuah had appeared in court as counsel for his client. EOCO later confirmed that its officers attempted to arrest him, explaining that the action formed part of steps to secure his attendance in an ongoing investigation. EOCO maintains that the MP had failed to honour two invitations issued in February 2026. Baffour Awuah, however, disputes that account and says the invitation concerned his law firm and that the firm subsequently cooperated with EOCO. Commenting on the incident, Political Analyst Siaw Madela questioned the manner in which the attempted arrest was carried out, saying: “What EOCO did there makes no common sense.”
