The Public Relations Officer of the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, Mr. Benjamin Takyi Addo, has criticised what he describes as hypocrisy among some trade unions in their response to comments made by a former Defence Minister. Mr. Takyi Addo argued that trade unions should support initiatives aimed at developing markets and improving the business environment rather than condemning efforts to create market infrastructure. He said building modern markets is important for traders and the wider economy, and called for consistency in the positions taken by organised labour and trade associations on national development issues. Mr. Takyi Addo also expressed disagreement with comments attributed to the former Defence Minister, saying such remarks should be assessed in the context of their potential impact on traders and market development.
