Former Akwatia Member of Parliament, Hon. Ama Sey, has appealed to the Vice President to engage President John Dramani Mahama to exercise patience regarding the arrest of women and other individuals in connection with illegal mining activities.
According to Hon. Ama Sey, authorities should consider the circumstances of women who have been arrested and approach the matter with some level of patience and compassion.
She made the appeal while commenting on the ongoing government efforts to combat illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, and protect Ghana’s forests and water bodies.
“I plead with the Vice President to speak to President Mahama to have patience with the arrest of women and those who have been arrested.”
