GHANA GOSPEL MUSIC HAS LOST SOME OF ITS FORMER SPIRIT AND IMPACT — JOURNALIST NHYIRABA KWABENA ASIRIFI
Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi has raised concerns about the current state of Gospel music in Ghana, arguing that some contemporary Gospel songs do not appear to carry the same spiritual depth and impact associated with songs from previous years. According to him, Gospel music has traditionally played an important role in inspiring Christians, strengthening faith and delivering messages of hope and transformation. Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi believes Gospel musicians and industry stakeholders should reflect on the message and purpose of Gospel music and work to preserve its spiritual values. He has therefore encouraged Gospel artists to focus not only on entertainment but also on producing songs that can positively influence lives and strengthen the faith of their listeners.
