ICAD TV MORNING SHOW HOST NANA NHYIRABA KWABENA ASIRIFI SUPPORTS BECE CANDIDATES IN HIS COMMUNITY, APPEALS FOR GOVERNMENT Support
ICAD TV morning show host, Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, has continued his annual initiative of supporting final-year students with mathematical sets in his community, while calling on government officials to help improve educational resources.

The initiative, which began five years ago, supports students in Odumase, Wawase, and Wesiwesi in the Kwahu West Municipality who are preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

A Personal Commitment to Education
Nana Asirifi described the initiative as deeply personal, recalling the challenges he faced as a student in Odumase.

“I still remember how difficult it was for me to get a mathematical set before writing my BECE,” he said, adding that he is determined to prevent the younger generation from facing similar struggles.

Supporting Dozens of Students
Over the years, the project has impacted many students. Last year, 70 candidates benefited, while this year, 50 students across the three communities received mathematical sets.

Appeal for Support
Despite his efforts, Nana Asirifi emphasized the need for additional support. He called on the Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw, Joseph Frimpong, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Tamimu Alidu, to assist by providing essential learning materials such as mathematical sets and stationery.

Call for Collective Action
He stressed that improving education in the area requires a collective effort.

“There is still so much more to be done in our schools, and I cannot do it alone,” he said.
